Hi Joe -

Your videos are very helpful, and will be even more useful in this easily available format. Many thanks for the elegant work, and for the time it took to reformat and upload it. I'll be taking notes all evening!

With, of course, additional thanks and accolades to John Havilcek and Dan Mullins, who have taught me (and the AKAI engineering department) everything I know about this beautiful machine.

Joe,

You are a great example of what this board is all about. I know that John and Dan's made the video with no thought of profit, but with the purpose of getting the information out to everyone.

And in the end Joe, you stayed true to that concept.

What a classy and great way to handle the final distribution to the masses. (Much different that when M.P. took over the rights and distribution of the first DVD).

You are Tops thumbsup

Joe,

Plot? Yes ! I knew Hondo was behind it.

Remember after the first DVD, many of us developed an east coast accent, I always suspected that something else was also planted into our subconscious after that DVD. I thought the message was something like "My Blue Water"? But the real subliminal message from John, was really "Buy Blue Collar".

The people on this board never cease to amaze me. Just plain "UNSELFISH" and "GIVEN" asking nothing in return.

Wow, I knew Hav was good with the machine but holy smokes, did you see how fast he was able to name the new project. He was a blur!

Nice job y'all.

Hey Dan, I edited my post here to put a link for the DVD, while I still have some left - you can unsticky the DVD available thread now - and sticky this one. I think You Tube will keep the videos available indefinitely.

Thanks
Joe

That's a great idea Dave. Even the music retailers might benefit by being able to direct pre-purchase shoppers there. Of course...having someone in the store that can actually run the thing would be even better, but we all know what the chances of that happening are Shocked

Hey Bisk-

There's software available that lets you download and save youtube videos. I use a free program on a Mac called "democracy" that allows me to do this. I don't know about PC though...

Hello,

I have a friend who works in a print shop. I would like to download all of the free instructional video at his location that he would then burn to a DVD (I'm not able to do so at home right now).

He said he tried to do just that and ran into some problems with it.

If anyone knows how to (or not to) do this, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks for any help,

John G

Nice video. Great job! but I am still on the look out for a more in depth tutorial for the dps24. Does anyone know of a tutorial (preferably a book) that gets down into the dps a little deeper? I guess I am hoping for some kind of DPS Bible.

Thanks John...
This is the series of videos I watched before my Deeps arrived.
I really felt that I knew my way around the machine after watching this video. It helped consolidate the information in the manual into some kind of workflow procedure.

Once I had the Deeps set up, I put my understanding to the test and had no trouble at all in creating an hour of recorded, mixed and mastered audio, divided into individual tracks and burned to a CD. It worked just like you said it would, John.

I'm glad that I found this series of videos... It passed the time while I was anxiously awaiting the arrival of my big black beast and saved me hours of head-scratching when it finally did.
